The Solution

Techfino's team of functional and technical NetSuite experts were engaged to develop custom SuiteScript customizations and implement advanced functionalities for manufacturing and production processes. 

MES Fire acknowledged the fact that this was a very challenging project, but once completed would create strategic efficiencies that would allow them to scale faster and add additional production facilities and warehouse locations.  The Techfino team interviewed the client’s subject matter experts and walked through the client’s facility to understand the current process and the parts of the process that were most time-consuming and manual. 

The old process leveraged NetSuite’s native capabilities for order taking and shipping, but had several manual processes that were being handled outside of NetSuite.  In addition, since all Items are built-to-order, the Sales team didn’t have a solution to handle re-orders and was constantly creating new custom items instead of reusing template items and providing instructions on the changes to be made.

Techfino proposed developing a custom application utilizing NetSuite’s SuiteScript platform, open-source libraries including Vue.js, Bootstrap.js, and Harvest Chosen to provide a visual application for creating new dynamic items and orders from those items using an iPad tablet.  Techfino got to work on a highly custom manufacturing process customization that was utilized by the Sales, Third Party Designers, and the Production teams.  This solution also included a highly custom print label that was saving hundreds of manual labor hours per month that were being manually created by hand prior to this solution being installed.  The series of customizations were highly successful and received very positive feedback immediately by the business users.   

It’s these types of flexible applications that can be readily developed and installed inside of NetSuite to meet the unique demands of many mid-market companies that need robust yet flexible custom solutions to enhance their operational efficiency.  By incorporating SuiteScript, Techfino was able to address specific client needs around finance, customer development, and unique manufacturing functionalities that are not readily available through out-of-the-box solutions. The Manufacturing Suite, on the other hand, allowed them to streamline their client's production processes, enhance quality control, and improve supply chain visibility.
